prayd uses the open-source Adhan calculation library. Times are computed locally and work offline; your location is not sent to prayd.
Twelve supported methods
Muslim World League, Egyptian, Karachi, Umm al-Qura, Dubai, Moonsighting Committee, North America, Kuwait, Qatar, Singapore, Tehran and Turkey are available. These use different conventions, especially for Fajr and Isha.
Asr and high latitudes
You can choose Shafi or Hanafi for Asr. High-latitude rules are configurable for places where ordinary twilight calculations become difficult. When prayd has to approximate an extreme-latitude time, it labels it as approximated.
Match your local masjid
Ask the masjid which method and Asr setting it follows, then choose those in Settings → Calculation. Per-prayer offsets of up to 30 minutes in either direction let you reflect a local timetable without distorting the app's grace period.
