Ordinary prayer reminders
A notification marks the moment prayer time begins. It can be useful, but swiping it away also removes the visible prompt. The system does not know whether the prayer happened.
Generic app blockers
A generic blocker usually follows a clock, a usage limit or a focus session. It can reduce scrolling, but it does not understand Fajr, prayer windows, qada, pauses or a local masjid's timetable.
prayd
prayd creates an outstanding state after the grace period. Selected apps remain shielded until the prayer is logged through the mat flow, a temporary break is taken, a relevant pause applies, or the Islamic day closes at the next Fajr.
What prayd is not
It is not a guarantee that someone prayed and it is not religious authority. The fallback is deliberately based on trust. The purpose is behavioural friction: to make opening a distraction less automatic and following through on prayer more immediate.
