The short version
prayd has no account system and no server. We do not collect your data, because there is nowhere for it to go. Everything the app knows about you stays on your iPhone and is deleted when you delete the app.
What stays on your device
Your prayer log — which prayers you marked prayed, missed or paused, and when.
Your location, if you grant it. Prayer times are calculated on the device from your coordinates. They are not transmitted.
Camera frames during a scan. They are analysed on the device, frame by frame, and discarded immediately. No photograph is saved and none is uploaded.
Your settings — calculation method, madhab, which prayers you enforce, alarm preferences.
Which apps you block. iOS gives the app opaque tokens it cannot read. We could not tell you which apps you selected even if you asked — the interface can only show a count.
What we collect
Nothing. There is no analytics SDK, no crash reporter, no advertising identifier, and no network request to any server of ours. The app makes no outbound connections except to Apple, for the subscription.
Religious and health information
Your prayer log reveals your religious practice, and pausing prayers for menstruation is health information. Under UK and EU law both are "special category" data, and both are exactly the kind of information that ought not to sit on somebody else's server.
They don't. Both stay on your device. Paused prayers are used only to stop the app enforcing and to protect your streak — never shown to anyone else, never included in any shared or exported view, never used for analytics or marketing.
Your subscription
Payment is handled entirely by Apple. We never see your payment details. The app asks Apple whether your subscription is active; Apple's own privacy policy covers that transaction.
Your rights
Access, correction, erasure, portability and objection are rights over data a company holds about you. We hold none. To erase everything prayd knows, delete the app — that removes it from your phone permanently.
Because prayd stores nothing remotely, uninstalling also means your history cannot be restored on a new phone. That is a deliberate trade, and we would rather say so than surprise you.
Children
prayd is not directed at children under 13, and collects no data from anyone.
If this ever changes
If a future version adds accounts, sync or analytics, this policy will be updated before that version ships, and the app will ask for your consent rather than assume it.
