Prayer times don't match my masjid
Different masjids use different calculation methods, and the difference is usually a minute or two at Fajr and Isha. Go to Settings → Calculation and choose the method your masjid uses. If you don't know it, ask — most will tell you, and it's usually the standard one for your country.
You can also set the madhab, which changes Asr, and a high-latitude rule for northern countries where the sun barely sets in summer.
My apps aren't locking
Check, in order:
Screen Time is connected. Settings → App blocking. If it says it isn't, tap to reconnect.
You've chosen apps. An empty selection means there's nothing to lock.
The prayer is actually owed. Locking starts after the prayer time plus your grace period, not at the adhan.
Your subscription is active. prayd stops shielding when a subscription lapses, deliberately — you should never be locked out of your phone by an app you can no longer get past.
The scan won't recognise my mat
Hold the phone over the mat so it fills the outline on screen, roughly square to it, and keep still for a second. Poor light is the usual culprit — turn a lamp on for Fajr.
If it still won't, use I've prayed on the same screen. You should never be stuck behind a camera when you've actually prayed, and we'd rather trust you than strand you. Tell us which mat it struggled with and we'll improve it.
The Fajr alarm didn't go off
Check the alarm is on in Settings, and check the offset — a negative offset rings before the adhan.
prayd's alarm is designed to sound through silent mode and Focus. If it didn't, tell us your iOS version.
Battery-saving modes on some devices can delay scheduled alarms.
I'm menstruating — how do I pause?
Settings → Exemptions → Menstruation. Prayers stop being enforced and your streak is protected. It isn't counted as missing anything, it's never shown to anyone else, and it's never included in anything shared or exported.
Managing your subscription
Subscriptions are billed by Apple, not by us, so they're managed on your iPhone in Settings → your name → Subscriptions. That's where to change or cancel, and where to see the renewal date. Refunds go through Apple.
Already subscribed on another device? Use Restore on the paywall.
Deleting your data
Delete the app. Everything prayd knows is on your phone and nowhere else, so that's all it takes. It also means your history can't be recovered afterwards — see the privacy policy.
